Praise for our children

Praise for our children

Well done to Camden Road for showing true Randal Cremer behaviour on their recent visit to Camden Road station. Here is an email we received from one of the mangers at Arriva Rail London…

Good evening

Apologies for not sending this sooner but please see below a copy of the article that went into our internal (staff) weekly newsletter

 Working with our local community

Earlier this week, the team at Camden Road station were pleased to welcome Year 5 children from Randal Cremer School, situated in Hoxton, whose classes are named after different stations.

The children were shown around the station and received a demonstration on how to buy tickets and top-up Oyster cards from the ticket machines. The team also showed the children how the gateline operates, what the call points are for and customer host Armando DaCosta even gave them a demonstration of how the ramp is used for Mobility Impaired Passengers (MIPs).

Service delivery manager, Pauline Lawler, said: “It was good to hear them taking an interest in how MIPs are able to board and alight. They were very interested in everything we talked about including the different signage around the station. They especially loved receiving the worksheets and colouring sheets to take back to school along with a souvenir (used) ticket each!

“The children were very well behaved and polite throughout their visit. We really enjoyed hearing all their questions and seeing them take such an active interest in the station that their class has been named after.”
