Support for Parents

Parent Group – this is a parent support group run by parents, for parents.  This is for children with a diagnosis of ASD or other complex needs.

Twice a half term the parents meet in Caretaker’s House – Adult Space.
They have met with:

Neurodiverse parents and Pupils

The WAHMS Team

Speech & Language Therapy Team

Coffee Mornings for Parents:

EYFS will be running a range of coffee mornings for parents from Autumn 2.

Stay & Play Sessions – EYFS – for siblings of children already in our EYFS – every Thursday 9.30 to 11am.

Parent Reading – EYFS and Key Stage 1 – an opportunity for parents to take part in class reading every Friday 8.45am to 9am.

Well-Being Coffee Morning – a chance to meet with the Well-Being Ambassadors team and hear from a range of professionals about how to support your own and your child’s emotional well being.

Head’s Open Door – parents with any concerns about their child can make an appointment to me with the Head Teacher at any time that is convenient for them.

Hackney SENDIAGS provides impartial and confidential information, advice and support to parents and carers of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

Hackney Ark is a local centre which provides an integrated, multi-disciplinary response to the needs of children with SEND. Hackney Ark offers the following services:

  • Physiotherapy
  • Occupation Therapy
  • Speech and Language Therapy
  • Children’s Community Nursing Team
  • Paediatrician
  • Psychology/ behaviour support from CAMHS disability

We may refer your child to services offered by Hackney Ark by making a MARs referral (Multi-Agency Referral).

Shoreditch Park Primary School has a WAMHS worker who supports us to identify mental health needs and signpost children and families to the appropriate service. For more information about the CAMHS offer in Hackney please visit their website.
