Jo Riley – Head Teacher

It has been my privilege to be Head Teacher of Randal Cremer Primary School since September 2013.

My favourite book as a child is really hard to choose because I loved reading so much.  If I had to pick one, it would be Peter Pan & Wendy by J M Barrie.  I longed to fly away to Neverland.  I always wanted to be Peter, never Wendy.  I still remember reciving the book on Christmas Day.  It’s nearly as old as I am now and still has pride of place on the book shelf in my office.

My favourite book: 

A very hard decision as I have so many but my favourite book is The Runaway Sleigh Ride by Astrid Lindgren. It was first read to me in class by my Y2 teacher Mrs Kewney and I absolutely fell in love with the story of the mischievous girl who hitches a lift on the back of a sleigh and gets lost, the warm pictures of the family reunited at the end and the descriptions of the scenery. My mum bought it for me for Christmas that year as I went on about it so much and I still have it today.
